arto® - ARTAS reverse osmosis system

Deionized water and fully desalinated water are indispensable for industrial applications, e.g., the manufacture of printed circuit boards, power plants, hydrogen hydrolysis, and for the food industry.  Our arto® reverse osmosis desalination plants are designed, manufactured, and supplied by Artas. They are certified according to the German WHG standard.

Artas is a manufacturer of ultrapure water treatment systems and wastewater treatment systems for municipalities and industry. The process, which uses membrane technology and electrodeionization, contributes to improving water quality and utilizes the best technology currently available in this field.

The system is supplied with all electrical components and mechanical units and is assembled and tested at our production site. All drives, measuring points, control valves, and motors are controlled fully automatically, with an integrated interface for signal exchange.

About the arto® process

  • Main units: Cartridge filters, high-pressure pumps, RO (reverse osmosis) system, CIP (clean-in-place) units, and a dosing station
  • Effectiveness: The process effectively removes dissolved solids (TDS), turbidity, asbestos, toxic heavy metals, radium, and many dissolved organic substances.
  • Membranes: arto® membranes can remove almost all particles, bacteria, and organic substances.
  • Water flow: After treatment, the water is divided into two streams: permeate (treated water that is ready for use) and concentrate (water that contains most of the contaminants and must be disposed of).
  • High-pressure pumps: These pumps supply the arto® system with the required high pressure.
  • Cartridge filters: The filter unit protects the arto® system and the high-pressure pumps from particles.
  • Chemical dosing: Chemicals are dosed to prevent clogging and fouling of the system (antiscalant).
  • Pre-treatment: Additional pre-treatment extends the service life of the arto® membranes.
  • Post-treatment: Optional post-treatment can further improve the quality of the permeate water.
