armo® - ARTAS mobile ultrapure water system

Production of ultrapure water for a demineralized production line using two-stage reverse osmosis followed by an electroionization module (EDI).

High-quality water is essential for energy production. The mobile ultrapure water system from ARTAS produces water in accordance with the highest standards and is immediately ready for use to support energy suppliers during peak loads and conversions.

ARTAS develops and produces ultrapure water systems for power plants, hydrogen production, the automotive industry, and other industries that require water of the highest purity.

Our holistic approach considers the water treatment plant as a system. We understand the comprehensive needs of our customers and develop sustainable, reliable, and stable water treatment solutions with high availability and redundancy—for optimized energy solutions.

The availability of ultrapure water in constant quantities and controlled quality is more important today than ever before. Manufacturers in the semiconductor industry, battery production, painting processes, and thermal power plants require highly purified water to ensure the long-term operation of their production facilities. Arrange an appointment to discuss a suitable ultrapure water system for your industry.

How armo® works

The water's "journey" through the armo begins with the raw water chlorine dosing unit. Here, the raw water is treated with a precise amount of chlorine to kill harmful microorganisms and ensure initial purification.

From there, the water is fed through a feed pump, which transports it at a constant pressure to the next stage of the process.

The mechanical filter unit with automatic cleaning removes larger particles and impurities from the water. This filter cleans itself automatically to ensure smooth operation.

The water then flows on to the multimedia filters, which use a variety of media to filter out finer particles and impurities. Here, the water is thoroughly cleaned before it reaches the HCL dosing unit, where a precise amount of hydrochloric acid is added to neutralize the pH value.

The water then passes through the SMBS dosing unit, which adds sodium metabisulfite to neutralize residual chlorine and prepare the water for the next steps. The antiscalant dosing unit adds a special chemical to the water that prevents the formation of deposits in the subsequent membranes.

The water is then passed through 10µ and 5µ cartridge filters, which remove any remaining fine particles before it enters the 1st pass reverse osmosis system. Here, the water is forced under high pressure through a semi-permeable membrane, which removes most of the dissolved salts and impurities.

The purified water is collected in a product water tank of the first stage of the reverse osmosis system before being passed on to the second stage of the reverse osmosis system. This second pass ensures an even higher purity of the water, which is then temporarily stored in a product water tank.

The final step in the purification process takes place in the electrodeionization module (EDI), where the water is further purified by a combination of ion exchange resins and electric fields to remove the last traces of ions.

To keep the system in optimal condition, we offer a CIP (Clean in Place) unit that regularly cleans and maintains the entire system without the need for disassembly.
